In addition, lithium\u00a0batteries have few &#8220;memory effects&#8221; and no toxic substances, which are also important reasons for their wide application.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2516 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/luxmanlight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/lithium-battery-1.png\" alt=\"solarstreetlightbattery lithiumbattery \" width=\"437\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/luxmanlight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/lithium-battery-1.png 437w, https:\/\/luxmanlight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/lithium-battery-1-300x229.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 437px) 100vw, 437px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ternary Lithium batteries\u00a0and LiFePO4 batteries are the two main types of Lithium Batteries that are used for Solar lighting products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ternary lithium battery Vs lithium iron phosphate battery<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I: \u00a0The material system of\u00a0a\u00a0LiFePO4\u00a0battery and\u00a0a\u00a0ternary\u00a0Lithium\u00a0battery is different.<\/p>\n<p>II:\u00a0\u00a0A LiFePO4 battery\u00a0is a 3.2V voltage platform, with a\u00a0cycle life of\u00a0more than 2000 charges.<\/p>\n<p>III: \u00a0The ternary lithium battery is a 3.7V voltage platform, and the cycle life depends on different manufacturers, different models and processes,and generally\u00a0is\u00a0500-800\u00a0charges.<\/p>\n<p>IV:\u00a0\u00a0LiFePO4\u00a0batteries offer better high temperature performance,\u00a0while\u00a0ternary\u00a0lithium\u00a0batteries have better\u00a0low temperature performance.<\/p>\n<p>V:\u00a0\u00a0LiFePO4 batteries\u00a0are safer.<\/p>\n<p>Further analysis about the two kinds of lithium batteries,<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>LiFePO4 batteries<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><b>are characterized by high safety, high rate charge-discharge characteristics and long cycle life.<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0The battery capacity is 80% of the initial capacity after 1600 cycles, when the charging condition is 1C multiple charging to 3.65V, then the constant voltage is changed to 0.02C, and then the discharge voltage is 2.0V at 1C multiple charging to 2.0V cut-off voltage. LiFePO4\u00a0batteries also have stable charge-discharge characteristics and good fast charge characteristics. In addition to long life and excellent charge-discharge performance, the greatest advantage of LiFePO4\u00a0batteries is its safety. The chemical properties of liFePO4\u00a0batteries are stable and the high temperature stability is good. The LiFePO4\u00a0batteries begin to decompose at 700-800 C, and will not release oxygen molecules in the face of impact, needling, short circuit and so on. It will not produce intense combustion and <strong><b>has high safety performance<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The disadvantage of <strong><b>L<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>i<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>FePO4<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0battery <\/b><\/strong>is that its performance is greatly affected by temperature,\u00a0especially <strong><b>in low<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0a<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0temperature environment, <\/b><\/strong><strong><b>where <\/b><\/strong><strong><b>the discharge capacity and capacity will be greatly reduced<\/b><\/strong>. In addition, there are some performance defects in lithium iron phosphate. <strong><b>The energy density of the battery is low,<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0only the weight energy density of the battery is 120Wh\/kg. If the energy density of the whole stack, including the battery management system, heat dissipation and other components is calculated, it will be lower. The cost of material preparation and the cost of battery manufacturing are higher, the yield of the battery is low and the consistency is poor.\u00a0<strong><b>The cost<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0per<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>pack<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>\u00a0is higher than that of ternary lithium <\/b><\/strong><strong><b>batter<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>ies<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Ternary lithium batteries refer to lithium batteries containing transition metal lithium-intercalated oxides containing nickel, cobalt and manganese<\/b><\/strong>, which can be expressed as LiMnxNiyCo1-x-yO2 (0 &lt; x &lt; 0.5, 0 &lt; y &lt; 0.5). This material combines the advantages of lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickel oxide and lithium manganate, and forms a ternary synergistic effect of three materials, whose comprehensive properties are superior to any single combination compound. Weight energy density can reach 200Wh\/kg<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>The safety of ternary lithium batteries is poor<\/b><\/strong>. The thermal stability of ternary lithium batteries is poor. They\u00a0will decompose at 250-300C. When it encounters flammable electrolytes and carbon materials, decomposition\u00a0will start at a point. The heat generated will further intensify the decomposition of the positive pole, and it will deflagrate in a very short time. In a car accident, th<\/p>\n<p>e impact of external force\u00a0can\u00a0damage the battery diaphragm, which will lead to short circuit, and the heat generated during short circuit will cause the thermal temperature to rapidly rise to more than 300 C, creating\u00a0the risk of spontaneous combustion.
